Happy Birthday Toby

The State of Nebraska is nuts.  They give learner's permits to 15 year olds.   Actually many of Toby's class mates have been driving alone on a school permit since they turned 14.  Unfortunately for Toby this is only available for those who live more than one mile from the school.  For the next year Toby is stuck driving with an adult.  Or are we stuck?

Happy Birthday. Uncle Tom and Aunt Steph., I think your stuck with him driving with you for a year. i take my written test in a month, but i cannot get my permit until next year, but onlt if i go to drivers school for 6 months. if i dont go to the school, i cannot get my permit until 17. it stinks, but its safer. Happy birthday Toby!

Happy Birthday Toby. - Aunt Shari

PS Darlene only thinks she is getting her permit next year. There is no way Uncle Tom will ever let her get it!

oh you lucky duck!!!! happy birthday! I am very happy for you being able to drive, but I must say as a parent with Brianna turning 14 in 3 years, I am glad I don't live there")
I am sure you are a good and responsible driver... have fun.

Nebraska has plenty of crazy parents it seems. No one requires them to drive. I would like the idea if they drove with a parent until 17. No luck.

aOh it is not fun. I guess with the oldest child I got to go through it first. It is the scarest thing ever to give up control of that car. Cody could have gotten his earlier with classes but I was just not at all ready to go through that again so soon. Good lunk and have fun.
