stop to shoot the flowers

I just got a new portrait lens today, but when I got home no one was up for a photo shoot... so I tested it out on this flower in the front yard. I liked how it turned out with no touch-ups, so I thought I'd share.

Wow, That's a great picture. Did you use the macro setting? Whats the ISO, F/ and ss? What lens did you buy?

bought the 85mm f/1.8. I'm selling my 24mm 2.8 to pay for it. My all-around use is a 28-105 and there wasn't enough difference with the 24 for the benefit the 85mm gives me.

I'm on business travel now, so don't have the pic data, but I'll try and post it when I get home on Saturday.

that f/1.8 will be awesome. The contrast front to back really makes the flower pop. Have a great trip.

Tom... because you asked...

No macro setting. I use the Program mode for almost everything. ISO 200, shutter speed = 1/400, f/ 1.8
